My friend Natasa calls this look, “wild Amy” …
I don’t know what she’s talking about. This is just how I look.
Ok, seriously though, I’ll post more photos of Göteborg soon, I promise. I feel guilty for not updating the blog. I went out the other day to get photos of the Haga District, which is just around the corner and where I spend a lot of my time these days, but the weather was insane. It was extremely windy and rainy (and dark, because it was after 3:30pm).
I burrowed into a cafe pretty quickly with a cappuccino and a book but then all the power on the street went out and I was left reading by candlelight (brought back memories of Malawi, actually). So, unfortunately, I didn’t get any photos. I promise to drag myself out of bed one morning to get some good photos while there’s still daylight.

Well, it’s amazing how everybody looks at us. While some might view a personal feature positively, some are of the dissenting view. This is not very different from the Amy I know anyway. On the blackout, it is really hard to be living with frequent blackouts and they are always an inconvinience. We are always told they are doing their best to reduce the blackouts. They say they are working ‘towards power all day, everyday’ but so far there is no improvement, just getting worse. We are literary living in the dark.

Yeah, they can get really frustrating, but I learned to get used to them. I wrote a blog about the water shortages in Blantyre (http://www.jhr.ca/blog/2010/11/living-without-water/) and credited them to the rapid urbanization happening in Malawi, quite frankly the city just doesn’t have the equipment or resources to distribute water to their growing population. Gray, do you think this is the same problem with the blackouts?
Haha, “wild Amy”. I think I know what she means!
Haha, thanks Mari!
What photograph “app” type thing are you using here? Looks amaze
Thanks! I’m not cool enough to have an iPhone like everyone else, so I just took these with my regular camera and used a program I downloaded for free called Poladroid to turn them into polaroids!
http://www.poladroid.net/
It’s also an awesome program for when you have a photo you like but it’s not very good quality – makes it seem like the errors or blurriness was on purpose!
Oh yes I’ve heard about that one – thank you, will give it a go!
Pic #3 – Are you a werewolf or vampire?
Wild Amy looks like a fun gal!
Agree, pic #3 is my favourite. I’ve done that pose before at a Halloween party, I was a vampire.
hahaha, I was actually channelling Chewbacca here…
Great look, “Wild Amy” is rocking! I love the hair ^_^ and red nails look fun fun.
Thanks ladorable! I have this thing about needing to have my nails done (its a huge pain when you’re also a rock climber, every time I go climbing I have to re-do my nails! haha) – Thanks for commenting!
